http://www.reuters.com/article/topNews/idUSN1363693520071114?feedType=RSS&feedName=topNews&rpc=22&sp=trueIt's amazing what happens when "the people" stand up to the wild ideas put forth by extreme leftists such as the honorable NY Governer. Even in a liberal state like New York, people are against giving illegals ID cards that they can use for nefarious purposes.
Which brings me to a (seemingly) unrelated point: The media keeps pointing at Bush's low approvals, but what they don't mention is the fact that he's so low in part because of pushing amnesty, the UN-ification of the oceans, and other "liberal" causes that alienate his base. I strongly believe that if one of the Republican presidential candidates would step up to the plate with a true "neo-protectionist" conservative agenda (ie. protect our nation from terrorism, protect life at all levels, protect US sovereignty, protect our economy from China and outsourcing, etc.) that they would face off with Hillary with a significant advantage. However, Guiliani seems to be a one-trick pony ("Did you see what I did on 9/11"), Romney seems to be a closet liberal ("But don't you conservatives see that I agree with you on all the conservative 'stuff' now?"), and most of the others seem to be allowing the media to define their chances. Let's see what happens if one of these people were to step up, articulate a clear vision for continuing what has made America great, and repudiate those in this nation who consider the US to be the cause of all the world's ills. Reagan did it in 1980, and changed the direction of this nation and the world. Here's to hoping lightening strikes twice!
