This One's For All the Marbles

Okay, so if you were to ask me what prompted me to start a blog I would have to answer... well, I would have to give several responses.  The MSM bias I've seen for so long...  The War of Civilizations that I believe we're still at the beginning of... The issues I've witnessed as a professional educator...  There's so many to choose from...
Still, if you were to pin me down it would be two aspects in the news right now... One is the murder of a nun in Somalia following the *apparently pre-planned manufactured* outrage over the Pope's quoting of a Middle Ages-era manuscript.  When I read about this, I think it formed the final straw for me in my opposition to the enemies overseas, as well as those trying to place our nation at risk for political gain.  The second point driving me to create a blog would be the looming 2006 Election cycle.  In all the time I have been paying attention to politics (and I would say it started in about 6th Grade) I have never witnessed such a point in time where the future of our country, nay, perhaps of our civilization, is so at risk.  It is no surprise to me that we're seeing an alignment of the entire anti-West, left-wing, counter-culture "pantheon" around the world coming together in their hatred of the two-time elected leader of the United States.  If, and I hope and pray this is a big "if", the Democrats were to gain control of Congress in November, the next two years are going to place the US in a position we can't even dream about now.  So... I did what I could.  I contacted the state Republican operation and started a blog.  Now, I do not mean to only contribute to the "economy of ideas" until the election, but I think the next two months are going to be tremendously important for the future of our country and I plan to be a part of the discourse.  Then, we'll see where things go from there as far as "West Not Left" is concerned, but as a writer who follows politics closely this is certainly a chance to have a "voice" through the wonders of the modern-day blogosphere.  Go GOP!
